THE COMMON SCHOOL
I went to The Common School. I started preschool when I was 4, and graduated from sixth grade in 1986. The school has had an amazing and enormous impact on my life. It helped form and encouraged who I am as a person and an artist, from the time I was very little.
When I joined Kuhn Riddle Architects in 2008, I had the amazing experience of working with principal emeritus Chris Riddle, a parent alumni of the school, on a Master Plan: Develop a vision for the future of the school. This included numerous programming meetings, prioritizing the needs of current and future students. We have designed an addition and renovation that connects the whole school - visually, philosophically, and in terms of circulation for students, parents and teachers.
It has been amazing to work creatively on a program that I was a part of and know intimately.
The images below compose the conceptual design package. The school is currently in the fundraising phase, and hopes to break ground in June of 2015.
